Music for Children
Next Lesson - Sat, 12th Feb | Mulranny Arts
7:00-8:30 pm
Cónan is hosting ‘music jams’ for children to participate in, with little or no prior experience on their instrument. He is a multi-instrumentalist that can offer tips and tricks across the board and is a strong believer in playing music and having fun, before getting bogged down in theory.
Theory is important, but not before a fire is lit.
Learning correct technique and learning how to listen to other musicians around you are key skills that will help motivate and inspire.
Cónan has taught unnominated music to people of all ages on-and-off for almost 20 years and is very interested in passing on what he knows to anyone who will listen. Please drop us an email for more information.
7:00-8:30 pm
Admission €10

Drumming Workshop
Group Sessions to be arranged | Mulranny Arts
Man has been drumming as long as he has been able to think. Every culture in the world has a percussive history and I want to teach the fundamentals of rhythm to anyone who is curious about learning. There is a great sense of community and togetherness achieved when everyone gets into sync. If you can count to 4 over and over, you’re already a musician.
We offer group sessions, when we have enough individuals to make the class viable.
Please send an email to be placed on the mailing list for this specific class/workshop.€10 per person. 12 years and up.

Acoustic Guitar Set-up & Maintenance
Dates TBD | Please make contact if interested
Having spent over a decade repairing a variety of musical instruments under a number of master luthiers, Cónan wants to pass on what he has learned to musicians who would like to know how to diagnose issues and how to approch setting up their own treasured guitars.
Students will learn how to troubleshoot buzzes, adjust truss rods, assess necks, and adjust the nut and saddle to suit the instrument and the way they play. Tools and materials will be provided and I will do my utmost to make sure that the students go away with a healthy respect for the artform and a collection of resources to carry them forward on their journeys.

Hardline drafting (Board & T-square)
Dates TBD | Please make contact if interested
Have you ever wanted to ‘go back to the drawing board’? Well in this open studio, you can. I may be biased, but think drafting is a very useful skill and those who wish to take a few woodwork classes down the line would benefit greatly from having had experience drawing and reading scaled blueprints. I see hand-drawn layouts and plans as beautiful pieces of art. I will guide the students through every step and no previous experience is required, although if you did technical graphics in school, it will be of great benefit.
